About Us

Voluntary Services management is a complex and sometimes challenging role. It requires skill and knowledge in many diverse areas, such as personnel management, law, administration, health & safety, as well as a good grounding in palliative care issues. Frequently volunteer services managers can feel isolated, not just geographically, but by lack of understanding from within their own units.

The Association of Voluntary Services Managers is a membership organisation which aims to provide:-

Opportunities to network with others in palliative care settings
Information and guidance relating to good practice
Training and learning opportunties
Encouragement and support for members in both personal and professional development
